Throughout my academic career I have used research informed practices and practice informed research. I have did research on various social issues, conducted surveys, and use data to implement changes in systems. As the host of Social Work Next I did extensive amounts of research, collected data, created questions and conducted interviews. I learned how to evaluate social welfare polices and engage in dialogue with the community. In my Technical Report Writing I created an Formal Analytical Report to propose changes in the prison system to address rape. I have used both qualitative and quantitative research. I also evaluated current social policies and the unintended consequences of those policies. During my research I studied systems theories, analyzed data, and review literature to compare evidence best practices. In my Social statics class I conducted surveys and learned how to use the SPSS system. While interning at G-paradigms I conducted community needs and organizational assessments. I also have done research on how to engage fathers. I have provided some examples of my abilities in plan, conduct, and report on social research.
